More than 40 area businesses became “ambassadors” for Betty Griffin Center over the last year, providing in-kind and monetary donations to the nonprofit agency that provides emergency shelter and other support services for survivors of domestic and sexual assault in St. Johns County.
“We want to recognize and thank those individuals and businesses that continue to make our ambassador program a success and are helping us provide life-saving services to our assault survivors each year,” said Betty Griffin Center Development Director Kenlie Herring.
Betty Griffin Center Ambassadors this year included Horschel Family Foundation and Campbell Plumbing & Mechanical, KeHE Cares, Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation, Ascension St. Vincent's, Hardage Giddens, South State Bank, TruTechology, Old Coast Pickleball, Main Event, Volkswagen of St. Augustine, Atlantic Automotive, Edward Jones, Herbie Wiles Insurance and VyStar Credit Union — each donating $2,500 up to $10,000 and above to support the agency.
“This generosity from the community directly helps educate the community about domestic and sexual abuse, which are issues that affect all of us,” Herring said. “As this program enters its fourth year, we encourage more businesses will join their ranks as ambassadors of hope and peace.”
Betty Griffin Center has many ambassador levels, beginning at $500. As an ambassador, people and companies are recognized at the agency’s annual events and marketing efforts and receive other benefits throughout the year.
