The Social Society celebrates one year of making memories

The Social Society, located in the Nocatee Town Center, recently marked its first anniversary on Friday, Sept. 12, with an intimate in-store celebration, filled with the same pomp and flair you’d expect from a premier party planning destination.

Beyond the shimmering photo backdrops and ceiling-high balloon arch created by owner Seri Kertzner and her team, the celebration was brought to life with music spun by DJ Jeremy from The Balance King. Friends, family and store regulars were treated to charcuterie shooters crafted by Let’s Cheese Jax, meaning with just enough finger foods for light snacking, given the evening hour.

Drinks were whipped up by The Social Society’s long-time vendor, Regard Libations, who regularly hosts mixology night events in the store. Kertzner worked with the mobile bartender to come up with the Social Spritz, a signature cocktail created specially for the anniversary party, along with an array of beer, wine and sparkling water served in The Social Society’s custom-made cups.

Looking back on the past year, Kertzner said the store's accomplishments feel both rewarding and exciting, far exceeding anything she could have imagined. The store took home The Recorder’s 2025 Best Party Rental & Supply Store award last month, before even reaching the official one-year mark.

“It’s been amazing to see how everyone’s responded and what we’ve created thus far,” said Kertzner. “I think I’m most proud of our in-store events and the way they have brought the community together in a way that I’ve never seen before.”

The Social Society regularly hosts in-store events open to the community, everything from Pilates and prosecco, to tote-bag painting, to succulent garden making, to resin and floral workshops. Kertzner said that she loves hearing how much customers enjoy the events, how they find it both relaxing and therapeutic as a way to take a moment for themselves.

“It’s a beautiful thing. We’ve created a gem in the community, and it’s very special,” she said.

Kertzner credits much of the store’s success to her dedicated staff, who always greet customers with a warm smile and a helping hand.

“I’ve found the best people. They’re unbelievable,” she said. “They speak about the store as if they own it, and that’s exactly how I want them to speak about it.”

Looking to the future, Kertzner said The Social Society is hoping to expand its custom product line in the store and is also working on building bigger, better events for community members. At the end of the day, she said she feels grateful to be so well integrated into the Ponte Vedra and Nocatee communities.

“I love being a destination for people to come get the supplies they need to host everything,” she said. “Thanksgiving dinners, Halloween parties, birthday parties, all of it. [The store] has really become, like I mentioned, a gem in the community.”
