Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife this weekend

Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife is here, running from Thursday, Nov. 7, through Sunday, Nov. 10. The festival’s location is Hyatt Place St. Augustine/Vilano Beach, 117 Vilano Road.

Highlights include: Pesca by Michael’s W3 Wine Dinner on Nov. 7, W3 Master Classes on Nov. 8, Vilano A1A Soirée on Nov. 8, GTM Research Reserve tour/Wine & Cheese Paired Reception on Nov. 9, W3 Grand Tasting on Nov. 9 and the W3 Sunday Jazz Brunch on Nov. 10.

Writers’ group to learn about fraud

Northeast Florida Sisters in Crime will meet at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. The topic will be: How People Commit Business Fraud.

Guest speaker and attorney Jason Weiss will educate attendees on the countless ways a criminal mind can conceive to deceive people. In today’s world of cybercrime, scams and schemes, perpetrators are no longer as obvious as the old-time snake-oil salesman.

Ribault Garden Club plans holiday event

Ribault Garden Club, 705 Second Ave. North, will conduct its “Home for the Holidays” home decor demonstrations and morning tea from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 5. There will be refreshments, door prizes and raffle tickets and a boutique that accepts cash, check or credit cards.

American Legion Post 129 Auxiliary plans Craft Fair & Open House

American Legion Post 129 Auxiliary will host its annual Christmas Craft Fair & Open House event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Ocean’s Beaches Post 129, 1151 South 4th St., Jacksonville Beach.

In addition to the artist’s booths and exhibits, a bake sale and silent auction will take place. The event is open to the public and admission and parking are free.

More than 20 local artisans, many American Legion members, are taking part in the event.

Guests can also find out more about activities and membership opportunities. The American Legion membership is open to all veterans, while people with past or current service members in their immediate families may join the Sons of the American Legion or the American Legion Auxiliary.

Grief support group to meet

A grief support group meets on the third Wednesday of every month at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Room 107 of the Family Life Center, 578 First Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach. The group is for men and women grieving the death of a family member or friend. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20. For information, call Kathy at 904-553-8933.
