The 33rd Annual Holiday Shoppes will be held at First Coast Cultural Center on Nov. 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This popular event features local artists, craftspeople and unique holiday gifts, including shoes, fine jewelry, fashion items, home accessories and holiday decorations.
“We are excited to host Holiday Shoppes for the first time at our new location,” said Kimberly Sheridan, events and programs manager.
Sheridan said the event was put on hold last year due to their move to a new location at 6000B Sawgrass Village Circle in Ponte Vedra Beach.
“We’ve received many calls inquiring about Holiday Shoppes, and I look forward to seeing new and returning guests visiting our beautiful Cultural Center and long-time vendors,” she said.
Among the vendors are Charleston Shoe Company, JD’s Creation, Kathy’s Accessories, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Old Colony Woodworks, Peruvian Accent and Short Dog Jewelry. The Gift Shop will also be open.
To be the first to purchase local, national, handmade and designer items, individuals may buy tickets to the Private Preview Night on Nov. 15. This will include bubbly sponsored by Carrera Wine Cellar as well as a special gift provided by Nothing Bundt Cakes.
“There is something special about receiving a one-of-a-kind gift,” said Donna Guzzo, president and CEO. “Purchasing through Holiday Shoppes supports local artisans and crafters, and proceeds help fund the Cultural Center’s programs for students in St. Johns County schools.”
Visitors can also enjoy and purchase pieces from international artist Hollie Heller’s exhibition, “Women Supporting Women,” reflecting her experiences in Costa Rica.
Among other holiday programs and events, registration is open for Winter Break Children’s Camps. Sweet Sculptures four-day art and drama camp will be held Dec. 30-31 and Jan. 2-3. It will be led by acting coach Sheri Lahris and Cultural Center staff. Winter Break Culinary Camp is also available, and both camps are for ages 6-12.
