Composers gather for ‘Flying Ace’

A group of composers of a new score for the only surviving feature-length film from Norman Studios joined the Jacksonville Symphony Wednesday, Sept. 16, for a reading. The symphony will debut the commissioned orchestral score for “The Flying Ace” (1926) on Nov. 14. Jacksonville’s Norman Studios was one of the first studios in the United States dedicated to films featuring Black actors in leading roles.
