‘America 250 Proof’ an anthem for our time

“America 250 Proof” is a modern, patriotic anthem that celebrates America’s history and people in honor of her 250th birthday. Dave MacCutcheon, the creator, songwriter and executive producer, wrote the song for a new generation of Americans.

MacCutcheon has strong military roots. His father served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, and he has a lot of close friends and family in the military as well. MacCutcheon was inspired to write the song after serving as executive producer for the U.S. Army 250th celebration at Fort Bragg and U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps 250th programming in 2025. He believed that the country deserved a new anthem that reflected the spirit of modern America.

“‘America 250 Proof’ wasn’t written to move backward. It was written to remind people what is possible when Americans believe in themselves, believe in each other and believe in the future,” MacCutcheon said.

Brian Iannucci, the lead vocalist, said that he was excited to join the project.

“As a proud American, I was immediately drawn to Dave’s thoughtful lyrics and nostalgic nature of the song’s affection on the successes of the United States of America. Add to this Mike Estes’ amazing guitar work and this was a no-brainer for me,” he said.

His family has military ties as well. He said his son, PFC Andrew Iannucci, graduated from Army basic training in Oklahoma the day the song was released.

Iannucci said that the production was fun and was mixed by his friend, Wayne Killius, in Nashville.

“America 250 Proof” is proudly Floridian and inspired by Southern rock. The song was created by a collaboration of Florida-based artists, musicians, studios and creative businesses. It celebrates the role Florida has played in shaping America.

The lyrics themselves are a celebration of America. Each line includes references and symbolism within the nation’s history.

“This song is unapologetically American. In keeping with patriotic anthems of the past, ‘America 250 Proof’ is a modern tribute to our nation,” Iannucci said.

“‘America 250 Proof’ was written to sound like America now: energetic, unapologetic and built for concerts, racetracks, fireworks and summer nights,” said MacCutcheon.

A portion of the royalties from the song benefit AER (Army Emergency Relief) upon final partnership approval. “America 250 Proof” is available to stream now on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, iTunes and Deezer.
