World’s Biggest Beach Bike Ride raises $15K

The World’s Biggest Beach Bike Ride, presented Aug. 14 by Bike Breakers Foundation, was a success. More than 1,000 riders participated in the inaugural ride, which spanned a two-mile stretch of sand from the Jacksonville Beach Seawalk Pavilion to Atlantic Boulevard.

Organizers were pleased with the turnout and support from riders, volunteers, sponsors and community partners, and they hope to make the World’s Biggest Beach Bike Ride an annual tradition that continues to grow each year.

Long-term plans also include working toward recognition of beach bike riding as an official category with Guinness World Records.

This year’s event raised a total of $15,000. As a result, the Bike Breakers Foundation recently presented $5,000 donations to three local nonprofit organizations:

  • BEAM, which provides emergency financial assistance to Beaches residents in crisis
  • V for Victory, which supports families throughout their cancer journeys
  • Two Titmice Foundation, which provides financial assistance to individuals battling breast cancer

Bike Breakers Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to fostering community connection while promoting health, recreation and charitable giving.
