David L. Sheffler, chairman of the Department of History at UNF, will be the guest speaker at the Coastal Friends monthly luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Sheffler will speak about medieval history and heretics – just in time for the Halloween season.
The luncheon runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Marsh Landing Country Club, 25655 Marsh Landing Parkway, Ponte Vedra Beach. It is open to members and guests, as well as the community. Lunch will consist of house salad with balsamic vinaigrette, seared salmon with pineapple salsa, jasmine rice, zucchini and squash medley, and apple cobbler.
The cost to attend is $25. Reservations must be made in advance by contacting the luncheon chairman at bartshar@comcast.net as soon as possible. The deadline for checks to be received is Friday morning, Sept. 26.
Additionally at this luncheon, Coastal Friends is highlighting Mission House as its Charity of the Month.
