On Friday, Aug. 7, Underwood Jewelers presented a check for $7,000 to representatives of Angelwood Inc., a Jacksonville-based nonprofit serving individuals and families with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The funds were raised during the annual Underwood Jewelers Trunk Show and Prize Draw, which was held April 30 through May 2. They represent a portion of the event’s proceeds, as well as money generated by the prize draw.
Since 1993, Angelwood has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of Northeast Florida residents and their families through summer camps for children, supported employment, behavioral services and adult day training, as well as its five residential group homes.
The need is great as are the financial demands. For that reason, fundraisers like the Underwood trunk show are critical to Angelwood’s mission. Underwood Jewelers has been a longtime supporter of the nonprofit.
The trunk show offered customers something special, as well. The event was hosted by two major designers, David Yurman and Platinum Born. The designers offered stunning pieces of jewelry to those attending the trunk show.
Also, in cooperation with Underwood Jewelers, the designers donated exclusive pieces of jewelry for a prize draw, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at Angelwood’s annual Celebration Gala at Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra Beach. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the prize draw go directly to Angelwood.
Friday, many of Angelwood’s clients joined the nonprofit’s leadership team and Underwood staff for the check presentation at the jeweler’s Ponte Vedra Beach location.
