Today’s military to be featured in upcoming library talk

Retired U.S Marine Corps Lieutenant General Rick Tryon will give a talk titled: “Today's Military: The All Volunteer Force” Monday, Feb. 10 at Crosswater Hall, Nocatee Welcome Center, 245 Nocatee Center Way.

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Tryon served in Operation Desert Storm with Special Operation Task Force in Iraq and Turkey. He graduated with a Master’s degree in International Public Policy from John Hopkins University.

In 2004, he served as executive officer to the Supreme Allied Commander European Command and in 2009 was again deployed to Iraq.

He retired from the service in 2014 and joined the Wounded Warrior Project Advisory Council.

A resident of Nocatee, he now serves on Wounded Warrior Project’s board of directors.

The library talk, sponsored by Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Library Speakers Program, is free and open to the public.

Doors open 6 p.m., with the program beginning at 6:30.
