The link to Host Human Trafficking Awareness event

Posted

The link will host a Human Trafficking Awareness event from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, bringing the community together for an evening of education, conversation and awareness around one of the most pressing human rights issues impacting Northeast Florida and beyond.

Held in recognition of National Human Trafficking Awareness Month and #WearBlueDay, the free public event will feature expert perspectives, community resources and a focused program designed to inform attendees about the realities of human trafficking and how communities can respond.

The program will include participation from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, along with leading local and national organizations Arize Together, Rethreaded, Her Song, a ministry of the Tim Tebow Foundation and Hadassah’s Hope, all of whom will contribute to the evening’s panel discussion. Together, these groups represent some of the most experienced and respected voices in prevention, survivor advocacy, recovery and community-based response.

This gathering offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from professionals working across law enforcement, nonprofit leadership and survivor care — bringing a depth and breadth of insight not often assembled in a single public forum.

Founding organizations for the awareness initiative include the Blue Campaign, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and regional anti-trafficking partners.

This event is about visibility and education, organizers said. Human trafficking often goes unseen, and awareness is one of the most powerful tools to disrupt it. By bringing leaders from across this space together in one room, organizers hope to create a meaningful, informed dialogue that empowers the community to recognize, understand and respond.

Attendees are encouraged to wear blue in solidarity with survivors and to show support for ongoing awareness efforts.

The event is free and open to the public. For the full program and registration, go to the Eventbrite listing: Human Trafficking Awareness Event.
