St. Johns County to host public budget workshops

As part of St. Johns County’s Strategic Plan goal of building community trust, the public is invited to participate in the budget workshop series for Fiscal Year 2026 held May 8-13. All budget workshops will occur at the St. Johns County Administration Building, 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine.

Each workshop will be broadcast live on the county’s TV channel, GovTV, at sjcfl.us/watch-govtv-live.  A recording of each workshop is scheduled to be available through video-on-demand on that webpage under the Other Videos Archive within three days of the completion of each workshop.

Limited in-person public seating will be available in the San Sebastian Conference Room. Additional public seating to watch it live on GovTV will be available in the County Auditorium in the Administration Building.

GovTV is also available on Comcast Cable: Channel 3 in southern St. Johns County, Channel 29 or 261 in northern St. Johns County and Channel 26 in Jacksonville. It is also available to U-verse subscribers on channel 99.

• Thursday, May 8, 1 to 5 p.m. Health & Human Services, Office of Performance & Transparency, Purchasing and Contract Management, Economic Development, Public Works and Solid Waste. 

• Friday, May 9, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Building Services and Code Enforcement, Growth Management, Medical Examiner and Utility Services. 

• Friday, May 9, 2 to 4:30 p.m. Health Department, Administration / Board of County Commissioners / Office of Management & Budget, Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and Office of Public Affairs. 

• Monday, May 12, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Library Services, Parks & Recreation, County Attorney and Management Information Systems.

• Monday, May 12, 2-4 p.m. Community Partners, including Community Redevelopment Agencies and Main Streets.

• Tuesday, May 13, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Public Safety, Human Resources and Risk Management, Agricultural Extension Services and Veterans Services.

• Tuesday, May 13, 2-5 p.m. Facilities Management, Land Management, Emergency Management/ Coastal Management / Disaster Recovery and Tourism and Development.

After each workshop, the public can email their questions to Budget@sjcfl.us. 

Other key dates in the Fiscal Year 2026 process include: 

• July 15: St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) Meeting: The county administration presents the recommended budget, and the BCC sets the tentative millage rates. 

• September TBD: Public hearings to adopt the budget.
