This summer, the beloved ogre with a heart of gold storms onto the stage as “Shrek the Musical” opens June 18 at the Alhambra Theatre & Dining. The show runs through Aug. 9.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film franchise, “Shrek the Musical” follows the unlikely hero Shrek as he sets out to rescue the feisty Princess Fiona, accompanied by a wisecracking donkey and pursued by a kingdom of storybook chaos. Along the way, audiences will discover that happily ever after comes in all shapes, sizes and shades of green.
