The 30th semi-annual City of Jacksonville Senior Expo will be held at the University of North Florida on May 20 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The expo is a free event where seniors can explore health and lifestyle resources, services and information to help them thrive in retirement.
The expo is hosted by Expo Management Inc., which creates spaces for communities to connect and find the services they need. Bill Anderson, the owner of Expo Management Inc., said the expo began because the City of Jacksonville recognized it as a good opportunity for the local senior community. Expo Management has been partnering with the City of Jacksonville for 24 years.
This year, the expo will host 80 exhibitors, including BrightStar Care of Ponte Vedra, Island Doctors, Florida Blue and NIVA Health. Anderson described the event as educational, entertaining and fun. There will be live entertainment provided by DJ Charles Scantling and opportunities to meet local experts. The expo is a great way to plan for a more comfortable and connected retirement.
The City of Jacksonville Senior Expo is designed to help seniors stay independent and confident in retirement. Family members and caregivers are encouraged to attend as well. The expo includes free admission and free parking and is wheelchair accessible. It is located at the University Center at 12000 Alumni Drive.
