The Betty Griffin Center Board of Directors has elected Elizabeth Ross as its newest board member.
Ross, a St. Augustine resident, is a licensed midwife and owner of The Swell: Midwife Services, based in St. Augustine. She previously served as an obstetrics and gynecology (ObGyn) associate with Mother to Mother Midwifery in San Diego, California, and in the same capacity with Women’s Healthcare Associates in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Florida in 2001, transitioning to health care to receive a Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005, completing her residency in ObGyn at the University of Florida Health Science Center in Jacksonville.
“I connect strongly with the mission of The Betty Griffin Center, and I am both excited and honored to begin serving as a board member,” Ross said.
In addition to her own firm, Ross has also supported Transitions Birth Center in Jacksonville and several local community midwives.
“With her experience caring and nurturing women, Elizabeth will make an excellent addition to our board of directors,” said Betty Griffin Center CEO Kelly Franklin.
