For the Record

Miles Silva, a former attacker for the Ponte Vedra High lacrosse team, signed with the Denver Outlaws in the Major League Lacrosse.

Silva, who graduated from Ponte Vedra in 2015, played the last four years at Army, where he led the Black Knights in scoring the past two seasons.

In 2019, Silva produced 39 goals including two man-up scores and a game winner. This past season, he paced the team with 22 goals and two in man-up situations. He finishes his Army career with 65 goals in 34 games with 47 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.

Silva was an eight-round pick – 47th overall – by the Outlaws on May 4.

“Miles brings tremendous enthusiasm and competitiveness to the game,” said Army coach Joe Alberici. “His ability to score and to handle the ball in difficult circumstances would prove to be beneficial for him in the MLL given the opportunity.

“I am very proud of how he has developed in all areas of the game on the field. He is a committed rider and terrific partners ground ball player, as well as being a prolific scorer. His commitment level to our program and to the game of lacrosse would translate well to the next level at Denver and the Army.”
