While many is be enjoying summer vacations in the next couple of months, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall has been hard at work as it counts down to the completion of the building’s renovation and the first show scheduled for August 1.

The Dan Tyminski Band will have the honor of being the first performance to take place at the updated venue and tickets for that show and many more are available to be purchased by going to www.pvconcerthall.com/events.

Other acts scheduled for the first month will be Sister Hazel on August 7, Brian Kelly-Sunshine State of Mind Tour on August 8, and The Wood Brothers with special guest Mason Via on August 16.

According to SJC Cultural Events, Inc., which manages and operates the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, both the outside and inside of the structure is starting to really take shape, including the framing being in place that will hold the new stadium seating at the venue.

The stadium seating is designed to offer attendees an entirely new viewpoint and upgrade their experience as a whole.

Other than increasing the venue’s capacity by 25% during hybrid seated/standing configurations, it will also have covered outdoor deck areas on the first and second floors, and a larger stage to go with new lighting and sound system that have been done with the goal of bringing the live music experience at the concert hall to the modern era.

Although so much about the venue will look and feel new, since the beginning of the project there has also been a sense of pride in the old venue, and they have strived to incorporate some of the charm that had become such a part of what the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall was over the years.

This includes working on curating the return of the venue’s wall of screen-printed posters, which became such a cherished aspect of the old structure and its history as a former church before previous renovations transformed it into an entertainment hub after St. Johns County acquired the property in 2006.

The transformation from church to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall was completed in 2011 and now just a little more than a year since the current project began, it will see its latest facelift come to fruition.
