Posted

Ponte Vedra, after scoring the first 10 points of the game, needed a fourth quarter flurry to hold off a gritty Creekside team in a 75-62 victory. Trailing throughout the game, the host Knights pulled within four of the Sharks midway through the final quarter before the Sharks closed out the contest by going on a 22-13 run. The win snapped a three-game losing streak, all losses against teams with a combined record of 38-5.

The Sharks received balance scoring in the win as coach Ben Wilson had all 11 players used in the contest reaching the scoring column. Junior Sam Ritchie led the Sharks with 17 points, followed by brother Ben Ritchie with 12, Nate Bunkosky with 11 and Israel Nuhu finished with 10 points, all attained in the final period. Aiden VanCannon, who had scored but 2 points for the entire season, gave the Sharks a huge boost by scoring 9 points.

The Sharks will return to the Shark Tank on Friday, following five consecutive road games when they host Palatka.
