Pie in the Sky, a St. Johns County nonprofit committed to fighting senior hunger and social isolation in our community, has announced its first-ever Harvest Hoedown, a barn party fundraiser themed “Boots, Bushels & Big Hearts.”
The event will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Tringali Barn, Heritage Farms, 7310 U.S. 1, St. Augustine, and will mark the 10th anniversary of the organization’s senior produce program.
Every dollar raised at the Harvest Hoedown supports Pie in the Sky’s senior produce program, putting fresh fruits and vegetables into the hands of hungry seniors in the community. The evening will bring the community together to celebrate a decade of impact and help “stomp” out senior hunger, with a harvest supper, live music and both a silent and live auction.
Johnny Barnes of Hastings fame will present his famous homestyle fried chicken supper, along with fresh mouthwatering veggies — just like sitting at grandma’s table. The Thick and Thin String Band and Friends will be there to keep the barn boot-stomping all night long, no two-stepping experience required.
Guests will have two ways to make the night count: attend and bid, enjoying a delicious supper, live music and dancing, and a fun and exciting live auction, or give from afar with a direct gift to the senior produce program — including the option to become a recurring monthly donor.
Attendees are encouraged to put on their boots, take a seat at the table and bid early and often to help Pie fight senior hunger in our community.
Tickets are on sale now. Details on reserving a spot will be available at pieintheskystjohns.org/harvest-hoedown-2026. Additionally, a few sponsorships are still available. Email Melissa at Melissa@pieintheskystjohns.org for more info.
“The number of seniors we are serving grows every day,” said Malea Guiriba, founder/CEO of Pie in the Sky. “Your support is needed now more than ever.”
Pie in the Sky is a grassroots organization that began in Hastings in 2009, filling in the cracks in services. Today, Pie delivers fresh produce to nearly 960 seniors throughout all of St. Johns County.
