Organ and strings recital to be held Feb. 21

The Florida Chamber Music Project has rescheduled its organ and strings recital for 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at Riverside Presbyterian Church.

The Jacksonville Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will jointly present the Florida Chamber Music Project string quartet and organist Jean Spyksma. The recital will feature works by Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi, Albinoni and Bach. Reservations for the free concert are required and can be made at http://bit.ly/3tJCHNV.

The concert was originally cancelled due to COVID restrictions. All church safety protocols will be in place for this performance. Safe distancing guidelines will be observed.  All attendees must wear a mask. 

The Florida Chamber Music Project fosters and encourages the presentation of classical chamber music. It presents and sponsors presentation of music by highly qualified professional musicians.

Jean Spyksma moved to Florida five years ago from Chicago, where she enjoyed a long career as an organist and conductor in the field of church music. She has been a featured organ recitalist and harpsichordist around Chicagoland, appearing regularly with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra.

Riverside Presbyterian Church is located at 894 Park St. in Jacksonville.
