Nights of Pints to benefit area nonprofits

Posted

The sixth annual Nights of Pints runs now through Jan. 1 at three St. Augustine breweries — Dog Rose Brewing Company, Ancient City Brewing and The Brewery at Jack's BBQ.

Coinciding with the City of St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights, the event was started in 2017 by the breweries as a way to give back to nonprofit organizations in the area while enjoying the festivities during the Nights of Lights.

“We love giving back to the community with this event,” said Courtney Murr, who co-owns Dog Rose Brewery Company with her husband, Doug Murr. “Nights of Pints is a fun way for friends and families to enjoy time together over a couple of St. Augustine craft beers.”

The 2022 shirts feature a snow globe filled with iconic St. Augustine architecture, surf culture, palm trees and the famous Florida alligator, designed by The Skinny Lizard T-Shirt Printers. Past shirts have featured the St. Augustine Lighthouse, the Bridge of Lions, the City Gate, historic ships and the Castillo de San Marcos — all symbols of the Nation’s Oldest City.

Shirts are $35, available at any of the three breweries, and each shirt comes with a punch card good for one free pint at each of the breweries through Jan. 1.

A portion of the proceeds will go to three area charities: Matanzas Riverkeeper, a nonprofit organization that works to protect the health of the Matanzas River and its water; Investing in Kids — INK, which provides innovative programs and classroom resources to promote the academic success of all public school students in St Johns County; and The Sea Turtle Hospital at UF Whitney Laboratory, the only sea turtle rehabilitation facility located in Northeast Florida.
