Andrews to address Amendment 3 at town hall
The Palm Valley and Ponte Vedra community associations will host a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, 101 Library Blvd., to inform residents about the impacts of Amendment 3, should voters approve it in November.
Amendment 3 would increase the homestead exemption for property taxes (excluding school taxes) and reduce the annual assessment cap for certain non-homestead properties. It would reduce property tax revenue available to counties and other local governments.
Jayne Evans, president of the Palm Valley Community Association, said County Administrator Joy Andrews and her team have been preparing for months in case the amendment passes to ensure thoughtful decisions.
