Essential Tremor meeting is Dec. 2

First Coast Essential Tremor will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Baptist HealthPlace at Nocatee, 400 Colonnade Drive, suite 130, Ponte Vedra. Patrick McCartney, executive director of the International Essential Tremor Foundation, will discuss all the latest “ET” news, clinical trials, research on ET, IETF website resources and more. He will speak by Zoom.

New farmers’ market opens

The Lance Family Farmers Market and The Village Church at World Golf Village have announced that a new farmers market has opened up in the World Golf Village at The Village Church, 4229 Pacetti Road, near St. Augustine. The market is open on the first and third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in December and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning in 2026.

Many of the weekends are themed and include 40-plus vendors each time, selling handmade products, sourdough bread, homemade baked goods, vegetables, jelly, eggs, honey, dog products and health and wellness information. There are also delicious food options, and a bounce house and fun for the kids.

St. Johns County announces holiday hours

All departments of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, administrative offices, libraries and bookmobiles, the Supervisor of Elections Office and the Property Appraiser’s Office will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 26, through Friday, Nov. 28, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Tax Collector’s Office and the Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller’s Office will be closed on Nov. 27-28.

St. Johns County libraries will resume regular business hours on Saturday, Nov. 29, and all other offices will resume regular business hours on Monday, Dec. 1.

Garbage, recycling and yard waste will not be collected on Thursday, Nov. 27. Beginning Nov. 28, collections will be delayed one day, with all routes being completed by Saturday, Nov. 29. The Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road solid waste scale houses will be closed on Nov. 27, reopening Nov. 28.

Additionally, residents can download the Recycle Coach app or go to www.recyclestjohns.com to obtain curbside collection schedules, sign up for alerts and quickly learn how to properly dispose of different household waste materials.

Farmers market open every Friday

The Ponte Vedra Friday Farmers Market takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday at Palm Valley Outdoors, 377 S. Roscoe Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach, offering fresh produce, local farm goods and a welcoming space to connect with neighbors and small businesses.
