Paws O’ Gold pet adoption event planned

The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) is bringing a little extra luck to pet adoption this St. Patrick’s Day with its festive new event, Paws O’ Gold. For a limited time, potential adopters can pick their very own “lucky discount” to apply toward their adoption fee.

Anyone interested in adopting is encouraged to visit the JHS Adoption & Education Center, located at 8464 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, during the following hours:

  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15
  • Noon to 7 p.m. Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17

Every adopted pet will go home spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Additional items and fees, such as a leash and collar, city rabies licensing or a cat carrier, may apply at the time of adoption. For additional information, go to jaxhumane.org.

Farmers market open every Friday

The Ponte Vedra Friday Farmers Market takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday at Palm Valley Outdoors, 377 S. Roscoe Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach, offering fresh produce, local farm goods and a welcoming space to connect with neighbors and small businesses.

This farmers market features fresh, organically grown produce; Florida grass-fed beef and pork; real local honey; pasture-raised chicken and eggs; wholegrain breads; gluten-free sourdough bread; natural botanical skincare; creations by local artisans and more in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Essential tremor meeting focus: physical therapy

First Coast Essential Tremor: Meet, Greet & Educate will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Baptist HealthPlace in Nocatee, 400 Colonnade Drive, Suite 130, Ponte Vedra.

Flower show planned for April

A juried flower show and bonzai exhibit in April will help celebrate the Garden Club of St. Augustine’s 100th year with the theme “A Century of Flowers.” View a variety of horticulture, flowering plants, small and large designs, specimens and creations following NGC requirements with blue, red, white and special place ribbons awarded by jurors. Visitors will be able to vote for the “People’s Choice.” The show will be held 2-5 p.m. Friday, April 24, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Southeast Branch Library, 6670 U.S. 1 South, St. Augustine. Admission is free to the public.
