Ribault Garden Club plans events

The Ribault Garden Club recently announced three upcoming events.

  • Learn about the birds of Northeast Florida at the meeting, 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22. Guest speaker is Elizabeth Filippelli of Duval Audubon Society and Timucuan Parks Foundation. Admission is free. Open to the public. There will be refreshments and a raffle.
  • The club is planning an Italian dinner and trivia event for 6 p.m. Jan. 30. There is a donation of $10. Dinner will include charuterie, bruschetta, pasta e fagioli, lasagna, salad and cannolis. There will also be a raffle.
  • The club’s Trash to Treasure Fundraiser will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 7. Admission is free. There will be home goods, kitchenware, plants and planters, artwork, vases, clothing, jewelry, fishing gear, golf clubs, books, games, bikes, toys and more. A preview party from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 6 will include wine and appetizers; tickets at the door are $10.

All events are at 705 2nd Ave., North, Jacksonville Beach.

Beach cleanup is Saturday

The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTM) will conduct a beach cleanup from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24. Meet at the GTM Research Reserve Visitor Center, 505 Guana River Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, where gloves and trash bags will be provided. Participants will be directed to a specific beach for cleanup. Hat, insect repellent, water and sunscreen are recommended.

The Ponte Vedra Friday Farmers Market takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday at Palm Valley Outdoors, 377 S. Roscoe Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach, offering fresh produce, local farm goods and a welcoming space to connect with neighbors and small businesses.

Essential Tremor Support Group to meet

The Essential Tremor Support Group will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Baptist HealthPlace in Nocatee, 400 Colonnade Drive, Ponte Vedra. This will be an informative session (by video) from Dr. Michael Johns (director of USC’s Voice Center and professor of otolaryngology).
