The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) has already taken in more than 1,000 kittens this year, and with kitten season now at its peak, the shelter has officially run out of names for its newest arrivals. After plenty of tiny meows, playful purrs and a few “complaints” from kittens about their current names, JHS is calling on the community to help through its annual Be a Feline Friend campaign.
Be a Feline Friend is an annual fundraising campaign that supports the thousands of kittens who enter JHS care.
This year’s campaign makes an impact in two ways:
“Every kitten that comes through our doors deserves a name as unique as their personality,” said Lawrence Nicolas, CEO of JHS. “Be a Feline Friend gives the community a fun and meaningful way to directly support kittens during the busiest time of year while helping us provide the lifesaving care they need to grow into happy, healthy cats, and your gift will go twice as far thanks to the special match.”
