Apex Theatre Studio will present Disney’s beloved family classic, “Mary Poppins Jr.,” on Friday-Sunday, June 24-26, at Lewis Auditorium, 14 Granada St., located on the campus of Flagler College.

“This season is about discovering joy, spreading laughter and celebrating the return of in-person camps,” said Managing Director Ian Mairs. “We are excited to move our summer season to Lewis Auditorium, which offers the students a chance to work in an impressive performance space with ample seating for a popular show like this one.”

Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “anything can happen if you let it.”

The production features more than 40 young artists from the North Florida area. Olivia DeMaio, a rising junior in the musical theater program at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, plays the title character. George Eastman, a sophomore in the same program, portrays the chimney sweep, Bert.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $22 and can be purchased at apextheatrejax.com/events.
