From fashions for local deputies to international art and gastronomy, there is a unique lineup of offerings at First Coast Cultural Center (FCCC) the first week of November.
On Friday, Nov. 1, FCCC will host a fun-filled, complementary “Global Gastronomy Project Happy Hour” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Francisco Guitard, from the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Art and Tourism, will share details about this international project.
“We want the First Coast to be a culinary leader, and this project emphasizes healthy eating with diversity,” said Donna Guzzo, FCCC president and CEO. Those in the hospitality industry and restaurant owners are especially encouraged to attend this informative event.
Also on Nov. 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., there will be a meet-and-greet with international artist Hollie Heller. Rescheduled due to Hurricane Milton, “Women Supporting Women” is a paper-and-fabric collage exhibition by Heller. The New York resident’s collection of vibrant, colorful pieces reflects her experiences during yearly visits to Costa Rica.
In addition, “Nature’s Palette,” a collection of art pieces from The Discovery School students, will be on display.
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the popular “Bespoke on the Boulevard” will celebrate its third year of fun and fashion. FCCC is partnering with Gulani Vision Institute to bring suits and dress clothes, including blouses and blazers, to law enforcement officers and personnel from St. Johns County.
Refreshments will be served at a reception hosted by Gulani, and it is free and open to the public.
Donations of professional attire will be accepted through Nov. 1. Email Kimberly Sheridan at ksheridan@firstcoastculturalcenter.org or call at 904-280-0614, ext. 1205 for information about the donation process.
(Please note: Heller’s exhibit will be on display through Nov. 19, enabling visitors to purchase gifts during FCCC’s Holiday Shoppes, Nov. 16-17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 6000B Sawgrass Village Circle, Ponte Vedra Beach.)
