“The Wiener Werkstätte: Art, Luxury, and Beauty in Modern Vienna”
Nov. 20 to July 15, 2026
This fall, explore a world of visionary design at the Lightner Museum with an exhibition dedicated to the Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshops), a groundbreaking Austrian design movement of the early 20th century. Founded in 1903, the Wiener Werkstätte brought together a dynamic collective of artists, designers and craftspeople who reimagined modern living at the dawn of a new century. The exhibition highlights the breadth of the firm’s work across a wide range of media, including furniture, ceramics, glass, jewelry, metalwork, textiles and graphic design.
“Lenny Foster: The Magnolia Season”
On view now through Sept. 14
Lenny Foster is a fine art photographer known for his spiritual and evocative imagery. Foster’s seven-year photographic study of the magnolia has yielded dozens of fine art images capturing the flower’s intrinsic beauty throughout its lifecycle. “The Magnolia Season” is a visual feast of texture, light and form, showcasing Foster’s mastery behind the lens. Each image elevates the magnolia beyond its simple physical beauty to evoke a quiet reverence for the spirit of the South.
“Matt Keene: Echoes of the Wild”
Oct. 3 to Jan. 18, 2026
Exhibition opens on Oct. 3 during St. Augustine's First Friday Art Walk
“Echoes of the Wild” is an immersive exhibition that brings together the historic artistry of 19th-century wet plate collodion photography and a contemporary call for environmental stewardship. Created during backcountry expeditions across the southeastern United States, Matt Keene’s unique images offer intimate, often haunting glimpses of landscapes and wildlife under threat from pollution, climate change and human development
Created to showcase the extraordinary talents of artists who live in the Northeast and Central Florida regions, Lightner Local is supported by the Benjamin and Jean Troemel Arts Foundation.
