Lightbridge Academy held a groundbreaking ceremony on Aug. 3 for its new Jacksonville location.
Lightbridge Academy was established in 1997 with a circle of care philosophy that places equal importance on the needs of children, their families, teachers, center owners and the community. Lightbridge Academy provides early education and childcare programs to children age 6 weeks through kindergarten. The company currently has more than 200 childcare centers either open or in the developmental phase in more than 15 states including Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas.
The new Lightbridge Academy location in Jacksonville is expected to open in the summer of 2027. It will provide families with a fun and safe option for early childhood education and care for children as young as 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten. Education programs are designed to support families and their children during the developmental years.
Lightbridge Academy will also be making a donation to Blessing Others All The Time (B.O.A.T.T.), an organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, including veterans, seniors and students. The donation will help strengthen the food pantry at Fort Caroline Elementary School, which provides essential resources to more than 450 students and their families.
“Choosing the right childcare provider is one of the biggest decisions parents make,” said Trina Anderson, franchise owner of Lightbridge Academy of Jacksonville. “Families deserve a place where their children are safe and also encouraged to explore, learn and build confidence every day.”
The new center will be Lightbridge Academy’s third Florida location, with 13 additional centers planned across the state from now through 2031. New sites are selected by utilizing technology platforms and advanced analytics to identify communities with strong demand for high-quality early childhood education. This ensures that each new center is well-positioned to serve local families.
“At Lightbridge Academy, our goal is to create an environment where children feel supported, families feel connected and learning begins the moment a child walks through our doors,” said Craig Murray, chief development officer at Lightbridge Academy. “By combining a thoughtfully designed curriculum with innovative tools like our ParentView Internet Monitoring system and the Lightbridge Journey App, we’re able to keep families engaged in their child’s day.”
