St. Johns County Legal Aid will hold their legal issues lecture series for elders every last Thursday of the month at 11 a.m. from Aug. 27 until Nov. 19 at The PLAYERS Community Senior Center Council on Aging of St. Johns County, 175 Landrum Lane, Ponte Vedra Beach.
The event, hosted by Megan Wall, managing attorney for St. Johns County Legal Aid, aims to educate seniors and their caregivers on the legal issues they often face. Despite the numerous legal challenges that arise for older adults, many are unaware of the protections they have or find the information hard to access.
“These lectures help people understand complex legal issues, one small bite at a time,” Wall said. “Knowledge is power. Empowering oneself with knowledge is the best way to combat fear, ignorance and insecurity, and it's also the best defense against becoming a victim of scams.”
The monthly lecture series is offered throughout the year each year. The remaining lectures in 2026 are as follows:
All sessions are open to the public and free of charge.
St. Johns County Legal Aid invites all members of the community to attend these sessions to learn more about the legal landscape affecting the senior population.
