The new school year is here, and Landrum Middle School, recently named one of Florida’s highest performing middle schools, is bringing it in with a roar.
The back-to-school season kicked off with the sixth-grade WEB orientation (Where Everybody Belongs), which helps acclimate new sixth-grade students to the school by partnering them with eighth-grade mentors for the year.
Additionally, as Landrum staff made their way back to campus, they were welcomed with a warm Chick-fil-a breakfast, where they mingled and reunited with one another. The back-to-school finale was the Meet the Teacher event, which brought students and their families back to campus to walk their schedules, meet teachers and staff, and check out some of the changes to the school.
This year the lions have launched a new beginning guitar class with 30 new guitars; created a journalism suite, complete with a news desk; made safety upgrades; and refreshed the bathrooms, entry hall and landscaping — it’s a whole new den for the new school year!
So, as alarm clocks ring, and buses head back to the streets for the first day of school, students and staff at Landrum Middle School are ready to meet the new school year.
