Joan Letitia Maxwell Dockins was the youngest of three children born to Donald Maxwell and Mary Kirkpatrick in Yonkers, NY, October 24, 1945. Joan grew up in Yonkers. She graduated from Gorton High School and attended college at Hunter and SUNY Oneonta. Joan married Darryl Dockins in San Francisco, CA, January 15, 1969. She had three sons: Matthew Dockins, Mark Dockins (twins) born January 8, 1970, and Michael Dockins born May 22, 1972. With birth of the twins, Joan and Darryl moved from Palo Alto to be closer to Joan’s family in Yonkers. Joan spent most of her career helping companies relocate employees to new locations. Upon retirement, Joan and Darryl moved to Alliance, NE. Joan became Associate Director of the Carnegie Arts Center until they moved October 2012 to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. After a full life, she passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022. She leaves behind her husband, three sons, two brothers, one daughter in-law, two grandchildren and a large family.
