Jacksonville Symphony events this weekend

The Jacksonville Symphony is planning a couple of special events this weekend.

“Bewitched Broadway: Wicked, Phantom, Little Shop & More”

Step into the shadows of Broadway’s most spellbinding shows! From the enchanting melodies of “Wicked” to the magical allure of “The Phantom of the Opera” and the cult-classic energy of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” this concert casts a musical spell. With hits from “Jekyll & Hyde,” “Cats” and more, the symphony and dazzling guest vocalists conjure up a hauntingly unforgettable night of Broadway magic!

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25

Where: Jacksonville Symphony, 300 Water St., Jacksonville

Who: Conductor Na’Zir McFadden; vocalists Farah Alvin, Kelli Rabke and David Burnham; pianist Zina Goldrich; musicians of the Jacksonville Symphony.

This is part of the Terry Family Foundation Pops Series and Greta Challen Berg Artist Series.

Children’s Music Festival

The 2025-26 season brings the return of the Children’s Music Festival, a day of music and hands-on activities. The festival starts with an hour-long concert, Vivaldi’s “Ring of Mystery,” presented by Classical Kids LIVE! that features the music of Antonio Vivaldi in an interactive experience with storytelling, acting and live music by Jacksonville Symphony musicians. Hands-on activities in the lobby will take place following the concert, including conducting an ensemble, arts and crafts and an instrument zoo. This program is recommended for ages 6 and older.

When: 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, with lobby activities at 4 p.m.
