St. Johns County Council on Aging (COA) invites members of the public to ring in the St. Augustine holiday season at An Evening on the Matanzas, A Coastal White Christmas Gala at River House from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23.
The annual fundraising event to benefit COA supports critical programs and services that help local seniors enjoy quality of life during the holidays and all year long.
Attendees are invited to enjoy dinner, dancing and an exciting silent charity auction in the spectacular waterfront setting of River House, located at 179 Marine St. in downtown St. Augustine.
Tickets to the event are $150 per person and may be purchased online at www.coasjc.org/gala while seats are available until Nov. 3.
“Each year, we look forward to this chance to gather with friends, old and new, and make an important difference in the lives of our community’s elders,” explained COA Executive Director Becky Yanni. “What better way to ring in the holidays than to help older adults enjoy their independence, comfort and dignity in the place they call home?”
The gala’s silent auction will include a collection of exciting trips thanks to a sponsorship from AmFund, the American Fundraising Foundation. Travel packages will include 4-plus-star accommodations, options to extend and add additional travelers, a dedicated travel specialist to book one’s trip, and will be valid for three years with no blackout dates. Bidding will be open for a limited time.
A range of sponsorship opportunities are available to support the fundraising gala starting at the $250 level. All sponsorships include recognition opportunities online, as well as at the event. To learn more and to become a sponsor, contact COA’s Karen Foy at 904-209-3700 or kfoy@coasjc.org.
COA’s Annual Gala is the companion event to their annual fundraising Champions for Elders Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament will be held on Monday, Nov. 17, at the Palencia Club in St. Augustine. For playing team and sponsorship information, go to www.coasjc.org/champions.
