Students from the dance team at Tocoi Creek High School are planning a remote pet food drive to help people facing the rising cost of pet food.
The drive is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Pet Supplies Plus, 206 Ashourian Ave., Suite 108, St. Augustine.
It is a win-win for students, pets and pet owners. Students receive community service hours, pets receive much-needed nutrition and owners receive relief from worry about how they are going to feed their pets.
To help, simply stop by Pet Supplies Plus during the drive, make a pet food purchase and donate some (or all) of that pet food to volunteers stationed outside the store. All donated food will be added to the St. Augustine Humane Society’s pet food pantry and made available free of charge to pet owners in need.
The pantry is open every Friday and is located at 1665 Old Moultrie Road, St. Augustine. Go to staughumane.org for qualifying information.
