Inspired by the vibrant, healthy spirit of the Mediterranean coast, Julie Amanda officially opened Sun-Kissed Lemon Society with a community ribbon cutting on Wednesday, June 11.
Sun-Kissed Lemon Society is the first of its kind, a studio that combines beauty, health and wellness with a variety of services and modalities that you might not find at traditional salons or studios.
“Every single thing here is a few of my favorites,” Amanda said. “The studio is a very personal journey for me.”
The space functions as a full-service hair salon, with two chairs serving as a full-time blow-dry bar and another three chairs for master stylists who offer haircuts, highlights, balayages and extensions.
Besides hair services, Sun-Kissed Lemon Society offers two forms of tanning, both UV tanning beds/booths and spray tanning. Eight employees at the studio are equipped to offer customized spray tans by hand, but there’s also the highly coveted Versa Spa Pro Spray Tan Booth. Or, guests can take advantage of health and recovery offerings including the Halotherapy Salt Sauna and the Fit Body Wrap.
Sun-Kissed Lemon Society also offers beginner and intermediate level Pilates classes on a daily basis, aimed at healing from the inside out. The studio features six reformers and offers boutique-style Pilates classes designed to teach guests the fundamentals of classical Pilates.
Amanda, a mom of four, found inspiration for the studio while on a Mediterranean cruise. With a background in human resources and accounting, she left the field to homeschool her children but knew one day that she would want to revamp her professional career.
“I was a mom struggling with health stuff, and I had very limited time,” Amanda explained. “With Jacksonville being the largest geographical city, I found it difficult to do any self-care. So, I wanted to create a place where people are welcome to come hang out and not rush.”
Amanda worked on her master’s degree in business administration and, after returning from her cruise, decided to pursue a franchise blow out bar opportunity. She made it all the way to final steps before realizing she wanted more autonomy over her business. That’s when the Sun-Kissed Lemon Society grew its wings.
“It’s been incredibly positive,” Amanda said of the community’s reaction since opening her studio. “Even before we opened, I’ve been very excited about the support we’ve received.”
Guests can visit the studio for a singular service/modality at any time or choose from one of the versatile “Blow. Flow. Glow.” membership levels, which offer monthly visitation packages for the blow dry bar, Pilates classes and UV/spray tanning options.
