Getting into shape for 2026: Just get started!

Posted

As the new year begins, many people feel inspired to improve their habits and prioritize their health. Getting into shape does not have to be overwhelming or complicated. The most important step is simply to begin — find a comfortable space, whether at home, outdoors or in the gym, and start doing something. Consistency is the true key to lasting results.

Walking, running, push-ups, sit-ups and bodyweight squats are all excellent places to start. You do not need to spend hours exercising. Even 20 to 30 minutes a day can make a meaningful difference. Consider finding a friend to train with or someone to help keep you accountable. When fitness becomes enjoyable rather than intimidating, it becomes sustainable.

Focus on building a routine you do not dread. Stay consistent, keep it simple, and over time you will naturally build strength, confidence and momentum. Most importantly, you will feel better — both physically and mentally — as you move into the new year.

At Meridian Fitness, we welcome individuals of all fitness levels in a fun, friendly and supportive neighborhood environment. In addition to our fitness offerings, we are proud to have NuEra Wellness on site, along with chiropractic care and massage services, providing a truly well-rounded approach to health and wellness.
