Free dog adoption event is Sunday

Posted

On Sunday, May 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., K9s For Warriors will host a free adoption event at PDQ in Bartram Park (located at 13702 Old St. Augustine Road) alongside Jacksonville Humane Society and SAFE Animal Shelter. About 20 dogs will be available for adoption, with local vendors also participating.

While the event is designed to help local shelter dogs find homes, three dogs currently in K9s For Warriors’ adoption program are especially in need of visibility:

  • Bucky — 3 years old, 55 lbs.: Fully trained on basic obedience, sniffing extraordinaire and an enthusiast of tug and fetch, Bucky is your perfect active companion. He walks nicely on leash walks and is really hoping you have lots of toys he can gather up in his bed. He’s spent time in a foster home starting to learn how to be a great house dog (after a good fetch session of course).
  • Charmy — 3.5 years old, 60 lbs.: She's a great house dog who enjoys napping in her bed and inspecting every scent in the yard. She’s a diva and a homebody who just wants to enjoy the simple things in life with a person she can call her own. She’s been in a foster home where she discovered her love for sunbathing and belly rubs, already knows some basic obedience cues and is crate and potty trained.
  • Denali — 2.5 years old, 60 lbs.: This queen of sass and extravagance is excited to find her forever fetch partner. Adventures, lots of treats and of course cuddles with her super soft coat are the hallmarks of her perfect home. She already knows some basic obedience cues and has an introduction to crate training.
