First Coast Cultural Center plans painting party

Posted

The First Coast Cultural Center is planning a Splash of White Painting Party from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Aug. 14-16. The goal is to refresh FCCC’s exhibition spaces with a fresh coat of white paint.

And volunteers are needed.

Claim a shift between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on:

  • Friday, Aug. 14 — Taping Day
  • Saturday, Aug. 15 — Primer Day
  • Sunday, Aug. 16 — Painting Day

No experience is needed, just a willingness to pitch in and help a space that brings art and culture to the community. Volunteers and donations are both welcome and appreciated.

Donations needed include:

  • Wallpaper-covering primer such as: Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3, Kilz Adhesion Bonding Primer or Shields Universal Wallcovering Primer
  • Sherwin-Williams Pure White Paint (or another brand color-matched to Pure White)
  • Paint brushes
  • Paint rollers and handle extensions
  • Painter’s tape
  • Paint trays
  • Drop cloths

The First Coast Cultural Center is looking for 10 to 20 volunteers each day to help transform the space. Please wear painting appropriate clothing and shoes.

Volunteers should bring any personal protective items they prefer, such as gloves, masks, aprons or other paint protection.

FCCC provide pizza, water and snacks.
