The Addison of St. Johns is hosting Fashion Fusion, an afternoon of fashion, refreshments, raffle prizes and more, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. July 25. All of the proceeds benefit ReBloom Center, which provides exercise, wellness, education and support for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.
The residents at The Addison will model the latest fashions from the Petunia Patch. Tickets are $20 and include a delicious charcuterie cup, signature drink and a complimentary entry in the raffle. Prizes include a St. Augustine Boat Tour experience, a DKNY designer purse and a Goddess spa treatment.
The Addison of St. Johns is a 61-unit Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. Carrie Conrad, sales director at The Addison of St. Johns, said the community is small by design to ensure its residents the best care. The community is homey and nestled among St. Johns most beautiful neighborhoods.
The Addison’s first partnership with the ReBloom Center will help raise funds for their exercise program, which gives participants a better chance of slowing the progression of Parkinson’s.
Melanie Lomaglio, is a physical therapist and the founder and president of the ReBloom Center. She said the ReBloom Center takes a three-pronged approach to improving the lives of people with Parkinson’s.
They focus on exercise, education and socialization. They offer low to no cost classes for various levels including boxing, yoga, pickleball, rock climbing and PWR to improve mobility. PWR focuses on training in five different body positions to maintain overall strength. Voice classes are included in this aspect of the program as well.
ReBloom hosts an annual symposium with health care professionals to provide education about Parkinson’s. ReBloom also provides support groups for men, women and care partners that meet monthly. Lomaglio said that this year, their emphasis is on supporting care partners and helping them stay fit by offering free strength training classes.
