Beaches Go Green, Sandalwood High School Beaches Go Green and Fletcher High School Beaches Go Green held an eco egg hunt with the City Of Neptune Beach at Gebeaux Park on Friday, April 11.
Instead of using plastic Easter eggs and filling them with plastic-wrapped candy, Beaches Go Green club members wrapped 900 eco-friendly prizes in recycled paper and decorated them to look like colored eggs. Some of the prizes included child-sized garden gloves and garden tools, seed packs from Dig Local Network, bamboo toothbrushes, sidewalk chalk, wooden maracas to decorate, colorful cotton-braided bracelets and nicely painted rocks.
The Easter Bunny was a big hit with the kids, as well.
