St. Augustine Community School of Performing Arts is planning its annual fundraiser, Dancing Stars of St. Johns County. It will be held July 9 at Flagler College Lewis Auditorium.
Tickets will be sold at the door and at dancingstarsofsjc.com. Prices are: student $15, general $25, VIP $55.
The event includes a competition among local celebrities who pair up with professional dance instructors from Arthur Murray Dance Centers and perform in front of a panel of judges. Dancers compete for two awards: People’s Choice Award and Judge’s Choice Award, judged on points and the celebrities’ dance performances.
Following the competition, attendees will enjoy a professional show with the championship dancers of Arthur Murray St. Augustine and South Jacksonville studios.
Pre-show lobby activities begin at 5:30 p.m. and include a silent auction and music performed by the St. Augustine Community School of Performing Arts’ outreach piano performance team. The auditorium opens for seating at 6 p.m. with a slide show and a special guest performance on the stage with St Augustine Community Chorus at 6:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the event benefit St. Augustine Community School of Performing Arts with a mission to “find and nurture the spirit of creativity and talent that rests within everyone.”
