Cuddlegram up for bid

Posted

Did you know that snuggling up to a pet can ease loneliness and anxiety and elevate serotonin and dopamine levels?

Now the St. Augustine Humane Society is making it easy for people to gift those snuggles to someone they care about, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Simply visit the St. Augustine Humane Society’s Share the Love online auction and bid on the Cuddlegram. The highest bid wins a surprise 30-minute office visit from a member of the outreach team, accompanied by an adoptable shelter puppy or kitten bearing candy, flowers, a plush toy and a collectable 2023 Pin Up Paws Calendar. (The inanimate items are the recipient’s to keep but, unfortunately, the pup or kitty can’t stay.)

People may also bid on other items like gift certificates, sweet treats, unique bath baskets and more. The auction runs now through Feb. 9 with all items available for pick-up in time for Valentine’s Day. Go to sahsauction.org. Note that the Cuddlegram must be sent to a business address located in St. Johns County.

Because February is National Pet Dental Health Month, Share the Love proceeds will benefit the St. Augustine Humane Society’s Dental Health Program, an outreach arm that detects and addresses dental problems before they can seriously impact a pet’s health. Left untreated, dental issues can cause critical organ disease and shorten the life of a beloved pet. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford lifesaving dental care for their furry friends, which is where the public and the St. Augustine Humane Society come in.
