Crop maze and more opens Saturday

Sykes Family Farms will re-open its annual crop maze on Saturday, Oct. 3. It will run through Nov. 1.

The popular event also features sunflowers to pick, hayrides, playgrounds, races, farm animals and much more for a full day of autumn fun.

The nine-acre maze is the centerpiece for this attraction, located at 5995 Brough Road, Elkton. Before entering the maze, guests will be given a passport with questions that, when answered correctly, reveal where to turn next.

Here’s a look at some of the other activities:

• Kiddie cow train

• Hayrides

• Teeter totters

• Bounce pads

• Tube slides

• Sand box

• Bubble barn

• Hay jumps

• Swings

• Duck races

• Faux cow milking

• Gaga ball pit

• Glow pumpkin blasters

• Barn yard ball zone (baseball, football, basketball)

• You-pick flowers ($2 per stem)

• Pumpkin painting (with purchase of a pumpkin)

• Face painting (not included in general admission)

Glow Nights are 6-10 p.m. every Friday.

And when your stomach reminds you that it’s time to eat, there are food vendors on site. Food is cash only, but there is an ATM on site. Here’s a look at the offerings:

• Hamburgers/cheeseburgers

• Nachos & cheese

• Sausage dogs with or without pepper and onions

• Corn dogs

• Hot dogs

• Chicken nuggets

• French fries

• Chips

• Dill pickles

• Candy

Of course, guests might be interested only in a snack. In that case, Sykes Family Farms is ready. There will be:
