County summer camp lottery registration underway

Posted

Signups to be included in the St. Johns County Parks and Recreation’s 2024 summer camp lottery are now being accepted until March 8.

Parents can enter their children ages five to 12 years old into the lottery by going to weblottery.sjcfl.us to register.

The lottery will be used to select children to attend camps at a variety of locations throughout the county, which include Davis Park Field House (210 Davis Park Road, Ponte Vedra); Ketterlinus Gym (60 Orange Street, St. Augustine); Plantation Park (3060 Racetrack Road, St. Johns); and Tout Creek (6795 Collier Road, St. Augustine).

The process is not first come, first serve, and instead it will be a true lottery where attendees will be chosen at random from all those entered.

The computer drawing is scheduled to take place on March 12 followed by the results being emailed in the weeks after and no later than March 26.

If the desired camp location was already full when a name is selected, that family will have the option of then being put on the waiting list for that camp.

Instructions for waiting list registration will be sent out in the email along with the lottery results.

The summer camps are very popular and due to this the registration website may be slow to come up at times because of the amount of traffic to the site.

Brian James with St. Johns County Parks and Recreation can be reached by calling 904-209-0365 or by emailing bjames@sjcfl.us for anybody that has questions about the process or the camps.
