Waste Not Want Not’s second annual Corks & Forks Gala: The Cigars & Bourbon Edition was held recently at the Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra Beach. Supporters in attendance were prepared to make a difference and restore hope to those stuck in hopelessness and despair.
The event raised more than $80,000 to help connect surplus food and hungry people throughout the community.
Emcees were Sean Knight of Hot 106.5 Duval and KaJeza Hawkins of Action News Jax. Honorary chairman Marc Hassan of Spectrum Realty Services, LLC, and Odette Struys with presenting sponsor HCA Healthcare delivered remarks. Rep. Aaron Bean led the auction, which generated $19,000.
In addition, Waste Not Want Not unveiled a powerful new video produced by ThinkSpark Media that told a story that addressed why this work matters.
