Caring Chef’s 41st annual fundraiser took place on the evening of Oct. 19 at Deerwood Castle, home of the Jacksonville Car Museum.

It was a night of delicious food and beverages to raise money for Children’s Home Society of Florida. Guests danced to live music from Cadillac Jax, entered drawing baskets and enjoyed delectable food and beverages from more than 25 of Jacksonville’s top restaurants. VIP guests even got to explore the Car Museum, which consists of a private collection of all-manual sports cars.
Tyler Davies, an Orange Park High School Community Partnership School (CPS) graduate, delivered a powerful message about how his involvement with CPS helped shape his journey through high school. He is now in his second year of college at the University of Florida.
All proceeds from the event went to Children’s Home Society of Florida.
“Children’s Home Society of Florida helps kids and families by meeting them where they are, whether at home or school, so they get support before bigger problems arise. In every part of Florida, we work in under-resourced communities, making sure kids have access to mental and physical health care, education and other specialized services,” said Executive Director Kimberly Barrett.
Caring Chefs seeks to help families and kids overcome challenges and build brighter futures by creating lasting change.
The event had an excellent turnout of 350 people, and $91,000 was raised to fight childhood poverty and maltreatment. Barrett said Thanksgiving boxes are given to families in need during the holiday season and that donations are appreciated.
The next Caring Chefs event, An Evening of Taste, will be held on May 16, 2026, at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. To learn more about how you can help, go to https://chsfl.volunteerhub.com/vv2/#_
