On Sept. 4, during its 50th Anniversary Celebration, Beaches Council on Aging announced the launch of a new Endowment Fund designed to provide long-term, sustainable transportation support for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
During the celebration, 200 people from the Beaches community in attendance helped raise nearly $46,000 for the Endowment Fund (which has a three-year goal of $1 million). This remarkable show of support reflects the community’s deep commitment to protecting vital services for years to come.
Serving the Jacksonville Beaches since 1975, the organization keeps essential services like Dial-a-Ride reliable and accessible. Each contribution qualifies the donor for membership in the Wheels of Hope Society, a community dedicated to dependable senior transportation for generations. Donors — one-time or recurring — are recognized in four levels: Access Advocate (up to $4,999), Community Connector ($5,000 to $9,999), Neighborhood Navigator ($10,000 to $24,999) and Driver of Success ($25,000 or more).
All levels of support, whether large or small, help secure the future of Dial-a-Ride. Below are examples of annual and monthly giving levels that reflect different tiers of support:
All contributors become members of the Wheels of Hope Society, joining a community committed to providing lasting, reliable transportation for seniors in the Beaches community.
“To see our community come together and raise nearly $46,000 in one night is nothing short of inspiring,” said Lori Delgado Anderson, executive director of Beaches Council on Aging. “It shows just how deeply the Beaches community values our seniors, and how committed we all are to ensuring Dial-a-Ride continues for generations to come.”
Beaches Council on Aging provides more than 1,000 essential rides each month, connecting seniors and individuals with disabilities to medical care, groceries and daily necessities. With rising demand and a growing senior population, sustaining this vital service is more important than ever.
“The Endowment Fund is a long-term investment in dignity, independence and access for those who need it most,” Anderson continued. “Participation in the Wheels of Hope society helps ensure the organization can continue to say yes to riders in need, regardless of future challenges.”
