On June 12, 2025, The Atwater at Nocatee held its inaugural “Senior” Prom, transforming their Great Room into the setting for a magical evening with gold table settings and yards of tulle and tiny lights. The decor was in keeping with the vibrant and elegant community at Atwater.
Guests were treated to a buffet dinner catered to all tastes with choices from shrimp cocktail to comforting chicken tenders and creamy macaroni and cheese along with many other options.
Adding a touch of flair to the occasion were the hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind wrist corsages made by ladies in the Crafting Class. In addition, there were silk bow ties for the gentlemen. The music of the ever-popular James Cargill was infectious and, before long, everyone was either up on the dance floor or singing along.
Highlighting the evening was the crowning of Prom King and Prom Queen, Alan and Mary Jane Goldman. The couple has been married for 42 years and danced their first dance as King and Queen to the tune they danced their first dance to at their wedding, “Always and Forever,” reminding everyone of the enduring magic of love.
Before saying their goodbyes, candy kisses were given out at each table because “No one should go home from a prom without a kiss.” The gesture epitomized the warmth and spirit of the evening.
